Trust and Estates Litigation

The Firm regularly litigates trust and estate related claims.  The Litigation Group, working closely with the firm’s Trusts and Estates group, has litigated a variety of such matters, in both Surrogate’s Court and the regular federal and state courts.  We have brought claims on behalf of trust beneficiaries against banks and other trustees for mismanagement of trust funds; prosecuted claims for estate proceeds on behalf of beneficiaries; contested probate proceedings; brought claims over a letter of wishes of a trust; defended trustees and beneficiaries against litigation brought by other beneficiaries; and contested as fraudulent conveyances transfers of property made in the context of putative estate planning.
