Langer, Robert E.
Robert E. Langer serves primarily as outside general counsel for entrepreneurs and venture investors. His clients range from family offices, venture and private equity funds, start-ups and early to late stage companies, all within a wide variety of technologies and industries.
With over three decades of experience, Robert advises domestic and foreign companies, as well as individuals on structuring their strategic and portfolio investments worldwide. A trailblazer in foreign law, he was one of the first to establish a foreign legal office in the former Soviet Union in 1990. He worked in Moscow during a pivotal time, the breakup of the Soviet Union and through the formative years of the new Russian Federation.
In addition to advising venture capital investors and funds, Robert works closely with start-up and early stage technology companies to attract investments and structure operations for emerging technologies used in telecoms, information technology, SAAS, FinTech, EdTech, medical devices and therapeutics, nanotechnology, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, gaming and many more. His experience helps companies structure and manage private and public fundraising with investors worldwide.
Robert is currently outside general counsel at several international schools, including the Anglo American School of Moscow, founded in 1949.
He helped organize the American Chamber of Commerce in Moscow in 1993 and served as a founding board member for ten years. He also played a crucial role in the creation and development of Operation Smile in Russia.
