Justin Marques joined the private client and real estate practice groups of Becker Glynn in 2020.
Mr. Marques’s private client practice serves high-net-worth foreign and domestic individuals, foreign and transnational families, and foreign companies in all aspects of real estate investment in the United States. He routinely advises clients on domestic and offshore corporate structuring, tax planning, and general succession considerations for their U.S. investments.
In addition to his general practice, Mr. Marques advises clients with respect to the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (“FIRPTA”), Section 1031 like-kind exchanges, tax regularization concerns, private equity investments, and offshore restructuring matters.
Mr. Marques often hosts conferences and continuing education courses at international private banks, foreign law firms, real estate brokerages, title insurance companies, and foreign family offices on various topics that include foreign investment in U.S. real estate and succession considerations for foreigners preparing to invest in the U.S.
Mr. Marques is fluent in Portuguese and conversational in Spanish.
